COURSES English Conversation (36
hours)
Gain more confidence in speaking and
improve your oral proficiency by taking our English conversation courses. After taking a
free written and oral assessment test, you will be
placed in the appropriate level with a
small group of students. You will improve your pronunciation, structure and vocabulary in
spoken English. You will also use what you learn in real situations through field trips,
social research projects, and telephone conversations.
Prerequisites: Placement test
English Writing (50 hours)
Learn to write correctly and clearly for
your work, your studies or for your personal satisfaction when you take an Intermediate,
or Advanced course in writing. You will have study periods in the Multimedia Lab which has
a collection of software and audio cassettes.

English Pronunciation (66 hours)
Improve pronunciation of individual
sounds, stress, rhythm and intonation. Participate in communicative activities to apply
the principles, expand your vocabulary, learn new idiomatic expressions and acquire
conversation and presentation strategies at the high advanced level. You may have
individual study in the Multimedia Lab and access software to further develop
pronunciation and listening skills.

English Grammar Review (30 hours)
Communicate correctly in speaking or
writing by upgrading your English grammar skills. Intermediate/Advanced levels.

ESL Idioms (30 hours)
Advanced language students will develop
conversational fluency through expanding knowledge of idioms used in daily life and the
workplace. Increase confidence in speaking by applying informal expressions and
communicative phrases in a variety of social situations. Opportunity for individual study
in the Multimedia Lab to access software, audio cassettes and videos.
