A typical week of someone who has
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
A typical day of
someone that suffers from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, or other whys
know as OCD, one form of this disorder is to be constantly cleaning were
everything has to be is just so. Nothing can be out of place before
sleeping and there weekly or daily cleaning schedule never can be put
off no matter how busy the day is. In the essay I will explain what OCD
is. From step by step, Sunday cleaning schedule to how they can’t sleep
if there is a missing remote, and how everything has its own spot. Get
ready to understand what OCD is.
Obsessive-Compulsive
Disorder is a chemical imbalance in the bran that cause worries, doubts,
and constant clean like vacuuming everyday. People with OCD are
explained it like having constant brain hiccups, with thoughts or urges
that they can’t let go. It is not the person suffering from OCD fault or
a result of a weak or unstable personality.
A typical week of
a person with OCD is they need to put everything in a rotten from when
they have there showers to were and the exact order that they clean the
house. OCD can get so bad that it runs how, when or why a person doses a
particular task. When someone around you suffers from OCD all I suggest
doing is getting out of there why. A rotten even includes when they take
a shower for example on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday they often most
time have high levels of anxiety going more then with a two day gap with
out a shower. OCD people often are very clean that most times is what
there Obsessive the most with; in the United States it thought that 50
percent of adults suffer from the disorder even though it is on of the
hardest things to diagnose. A daily rotten for an OCD person can be as
fallows, washroom, coffee, smoke if they smoke, then change, do hair,
brush teeth and finally makeup. Often times in the morning a person with
OCD can’t be rushed. Being rushed can cause dizziness and very bad
migraines this is a direct result of the chemical imbalance in the
brain.
The rotten is very much
the same at night as it is in the mornings; the biggest thing is how if
something like the coffee is out of order or messy sleeping can’t being.
If a remote is lost the other remote can’t be beside it on the table.
The evening rotten is as fallows in a typical person with OCD change
into pajamas, brush teeth wash face, pike out a movie a lot of time
people suffering from OCD can’t sleep without background noise. Then sit
above the covers for about 5 minutes most time people with OCD can’t
move from on place to another fast so they tend to have transitional
periods, this is for the most part to stop the spread of germs. Often in
people with OCD they have to do things like setting the alarm clock 6
times before being able to sleep. The last step in the rotten is getting
under covers and trying to fall asleep. A lot of people that have OCD
can’t sleep alone; this is a fear of the unknown.
The next rotten is food
shopping, this is always done at the same type of store like a store
with the same supplier for example an Independent and a Loblaws. The way
of getting everything around the store is the same every time. When home
it is even worse no one can put the food away except the person with OCD,
as I have been told “no one can do it right”. The OCD forces them to
rotate the all the even if it doesn’t go bad. This process is on of the
most difficult for a person suffering from OCD. Also is one of the
hardest things for then to give up.
The hardest and biggest
never getting out of rotten for a person with cleaning OCD is there
weekly or daily cleaning rotten. This rotten even if Christmas falls on
this day always get, done no matter how tired they are. The cleaning
goes as fallows dishes have to be done and drying. Then laundry is
started first whites, then colors and then bed sheets every second week,
if not sure they get done every week. Bathroom is next on the crazy
cleaning list and is a fallows place cleaner in toilet, clean sink and
bath tub; while cleaning can only use three pieces of toilet paper at a
time. Then place everything back into its place on the sink and bath tub
before doing cleaning the toilet. Lastly in the bathroom straiten the
mats so they line up with the tiles on the flour; everything in the
washroom must be “A” symmetrical. After the bathroom next on the list is
dusting first the bedroom then living room after that come out the
window cleaner. The list for this is coffee table both sides, living
room TV, bathroom mirror, computer screen, bedroom TV and even bedroom
alarm clock. The vacuum is whipped out next; first the perimeter of the
house is done. Then the bedroom and lately the living room and halls are
done. The same lines are fallowed every time the house is cleaned. The
last step in the cleaning adventure is lighting candles this signifies
the end of the cleaning rotten.
Too many people this might seem
stupid and pointless but for a person suffering from OCD this is a way
of life and they don’t know any different. People suffering from this
disorder don’t understand especially when they are young. Having a
rotten control your life is not always easy to live with. The disorder
is always gets in the why and out side people can sometimes look down
upon this disorder. There are many people that don’t understand this
and are afraid of people with OCD. They are still humans and as a group
should not look down upon them, they just have something ells to
overcome like people with LD have over come. The next time you see some
out in the street stepping over all the cracks like in the movie “As
good as it gets” were Jack Nickelsons character has to step over every
sidewalk steps in New York City. Don’t laugh or look down on them as
often done. |
