The Important Factors in
Learning a New Language
There
are numerous factors in learning a new language that help the
language learner to be successful. The yard stick by which I
measure, language learner, age, learning style and practice are
the most important factors in learning a new language.
You, the language
learner, are the key factor in the language-learning process.
Everything depends on you and the success or failure,
ultimately, be determined by what you have done. It is also
important to realize that what is your weaknesses and
your strengths and try to enhance your learning by working hard
on your weaknesses. Some people tend to blame teachers and their
teaching material while the best reason for their success or
failure are themselves.
Some people think that
childhood is the best time to learn a foreign language, but the
evidences portray that children aren’t better than adults. In
fact, adults have some advantages over children. For example,
they have better memories, better study habits and ability to
organizing of information. Adults are more motivated and
learning a foreign a language is necessary for them because of
having a good education and career.
On the other hand, age
has some disadvantages. For instance, adults are in hurry to
learn
a new language unlike
children. More over, adult don’t make friend easily and they
have
more trouble than
children to make new friends who speak the foreign language.
Eventually, practice is
very helpful for learning a foreign language and of course
participating in
society and communicate with the people are useful. Every one
has
different learning
style and there is no evidence that one type is better than
other. The
important thing is
practice and study hard.
In conclusion, learning
a foreign language is necessary for every one who moves
to another country.
Therefore, the language learner should be patient. More
important,
having a positive
attitude and being optimistic help them to learn faster, so they
should
concentrate on their
studies in order to achieve their goals.
